Lisa Mandemaker is a designer and researcher based in London. She is currently studying Design Products at the Royal College of Art.
- The challenge for me as a designer is to always find a personal approach and develop a critical framework for my design research projects. I believe design should question what is taken for granted to create a clearer view and try to design from these systems and not from products. This way of working has led me to speculate about the role of design in relation to our existing values, traditions and practices. Often my design projects are an attempt to question these values and practices in order to activate or contribute to the debate about our social, cultural, political and ethical systems.
